Stamp of Approval, Paw of Support
Our Notary Publics in Edinburgh provide document notarisation and certification services for clients and the local community. These services are often required for official documents at home and abroad, and while most firms charge a fee, we provide this service free of charge.
As part of our partnership with Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, Ralph Sayer Solicitors & Estate Agents is offering notary and document witnessing services free of charge. Instead of paying a fee, we invite clients who use this service to make a voluntary donation to Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. 100% of all donations go directly to EDCH to support their vital work.
We call our notary and document certification service “Stamp of Approval, Paw of Support.” The idea is simple: every time we place our professional stamp on your documents, you have the chance to place a paw of support with a donation to our chosen charity, Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home (EDCH).
What is a Notary Public?
A Notary Public in Scotland is a qualified solicitor who has additional powers to formally authenticate, witness and certify certain legal documents. These may be required for:
- Property transactions abroad
- Powers of Attorney being registered overseas
- Affidavits, oaths, and sworn statements
- Certified copies of passports, driving licences, qualifications and other documents
How Much Does It Cost?
Other solicitor firms in Edinburgh offering notarisation and document certification services can charge clients £50–£100 per document depending on the type of service.
At Ralph Sayer, there is no fee. Instead, we ask clients to support our chosen charity, Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home (EDCH), by making a voluntary donation. 100% of all donations go directly to EDCH to support their vital work.
Suggested Donation
- £50 per document (standard notarisation)
- £20 per document (simpler certifications)
Donations can be made in cash at our office or online via our dedicated EDCH donation link here. Every contribution helps EDCH care for animals in need and run their much-relied-on pet food bank, which supports both animals in their shelter and local pet owners.
